General tweaks

Shell/Bash

Add the following mappings to /etc/inputrc for a very convinient history search:

# mappings for "page up" and "page down" to search the history
"\e[5~": history-search-backward
"\e[6~": history-search-forward

Öpfelbuech / mac book tweaks

Enable direct Function Key F1..F12

sudo bash -c "echo 2 > /sys/module/hid_apple/parameters/fnmode"

sudo update-initramfs -u

reboot your system - be happy! ;-)
